Fernando and I got to know each other by joining a large service provider company in Frankfurt, Germany.
We worked together on a variety of projects for mid-range and enterprise customers.
On a day in August 2019 our lives began to change, as we started a huge project for a new customer. The project at first started with the idea of building a large number of VxRail clusters all around Germany.
By the start of that project the company had a wide range of IT solutions, historically grown and very inconsistent.
So we planned to renew all of their IT infrastructure in a long running project which we called “New Foundation”
What was initially planned as multiple VxRail clusters quickly turned into a sales discussion about business needs and automation capabilities.
So VMware proposed the company to use their newest product: VMware Cloud Foundation which was first announced in October 2016 and was generally available in February 2017.
And that was when Fernando and I were thrown into the deep end not knowing what was coming for us in the next years to come.
